Lewis Leathers began life in 1892 as a clothier and outfitter named D Lewis. In the 1920s, the company started to make protective leather clothing for pilots and motorcyclists. In the 1970s, the brand began to attract a new type of customers; punk rockers. Leading musicians in bands like the Clash, the Ramones, the Sex Pistols and Iggy Pop were now wearing Lewis Leather jackets.
